Mr. John Ignatius Kurwicki Jr. of Nashville, IL. departed this life at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, IL on Saturday March 16, 2024, at 1:58 A.M. He had attained the age of 83 years, 2 months and 15 days.
John was born on January 1, 1941, in Nashville, IL the son of John Ignatz Sr. and Emilia (Nowak) Kurwicki. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Kozuszek on July 3, 1963, in St. Louis, MO and she survives his passing.
John enlisted with the United States Army. He was passionate about farming and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. John was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen, IL.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Patricia Kurwicki of Nashville, IL; 4 children Greg Kurwicki and wife Lana of Nashville, Cindy Berry and husband Jesse of St Louis, MO, Brian Kurwicki and wife Jennifer of Pinckneyville, IL, and Kevin Kurwicki and wife Melissa of Salem IL; Grandchildren; Tasha (Michael)Whalen, Ryan Kurwicki, Jonathon (Callie) Kurwicki , Emily Berry, Michelle (Justin) Tubbs , Ben Berry, Amanda Berry, Kailyn Kurwicki, Kyle Kurwicki, and Morgan Kurwicki. Great-Grandchildren; Jaxton Whalen, Elliott Whalen, Kinsley Whalen, Aubree Whalen, Deacon Tubbs, and Beau Kurwicki. 2 brothers Eugene Kurwicki of Nashville, IL, Clarence Kurwicki of Steeleville, IL. Sister-in-law Ernestine Kurwicki of Marine, IL. several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Frank Kurwicki and Richard Kurwicki; sister, Eleanor Kania; brother-in-law Joe Kania and 2 sisters-in-law Betty Kurwicki and Jean Kurwicki.
Per the wishes of John and his family, cremation was performed, and a private service will be held at a later date with Burial of Ashes at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Posen, IL.
Should friends desire, memorials can be made to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Posen, IL and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
