Theodore “Ted” Guinzy

Mr. Theodore “Ted” Guinzy of DuBois, IL, departed this life on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 8:09 P.M. He had attained the age of 66 years, 3 months, and 28 days.
Theodore was born on September 21, 1957, the son of Victor and Rosemary (nee Sczuka) Guinzy. He was united in marriage to Teresa Almaroad on December 17, 1994, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, IL and she survives his passing.
Ted worked as a heavy equipment operator for all of his life. He loved to talk about the early days of Guinzy Construction when he worked with his dad, brothers and best friend Kevin Hug. His stories always include laughter and the love of the work they did. Ted was a member of Local 520 operating engineers, St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, Knights of Columbus of DuBois, and the Ashley Sportsman Club. Ted enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing, but his biggest joy was his family and watching his kids play their sports. His proudest accomplishment were his two children.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife and love of his life, Teresa Guinzy of Dubois; two children, Isaiah Guinzy and his girlfriend Gretchen Witter and Kyleigh Guinzy all of Dubois; mother-in-law, Marlene Almaroad of Mt. Vernon, IL, five siblings, Diane Lamar of Ashley, MaryAnn Maxwell and husband Max of Crestview, FL, Charlotte Dancy of Ashley, Tony Guinzy and wife Diane of Hoyleton, and Kathy Muenter and husband Jim of Hoyleton; a sister-in-law, Pat Guinzy of Ashley; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, as well as a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, V. Edward Guinzy; father-in-law, Ron Almaroad Sr. and four brothers-in-law, Ronnie Almaroad, Jim Whittaker, Jim Lamar, and Andre Dancy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, IL on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 10 A.M. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
