We are most excited to be featuring local author, Deb Obermeier, at the Wine Tasting Event at the Hofbraufest on Friday, July 10 in the Community Building from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Deb will be signing for purchasers her published novel:  “A Simple Stitch, A Common Thread.”  Deb’s novel was released by Tate Publishing on June 30, 2015 and she is placing the second order for additional copies.  Deb is also a part of the Vendor Fair being held in conjunction with the 3-day Hofbraufest.  She is making herself available for additional book signings on Sunday, July 12 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. near the pavilion.

The Vendor Fair currently has 21 vendors/crafters slated to set up their wares during the Hofbraufest.  A wide variety of products will be available for “1-stop shopping.”  This is the 2nd year for the vendor fair and fair goers will find the vendors available in the park throughout the weekend.

It is not too late to register for the 9th Annual Hofbraufest 5K Run/Walk.  Contact Deb Holle @ 618-780-0357 for information or register online @

Please see the Hofbraufest ad in this week’s paper for the schedule of fun filled events.

Set up for the Hofbraufest will begin Thursday afternoon, July 9 and continue into the evening.  Volunteers to assist in the set up are being sought.  Many hands are needed to ready the area for the 47th Annual ‘Fest.

Zion United Church of Christ in Hoyleton continues a journey through the season after Pentecost, this next Sunday with 10 am worship.

Pastor Howard Self’s sermon title for will be:  Praising God. With the guidance and direction of Scripture readings from 2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12b-19 and Psalm 24, listeners will have an opportunity to consider the ways in which and the extents to which our praise of God might/should go.

The Congregation will be assisted in worship and praise of God by members of the Koelling family who, as a part of their Family Reunion weekend, will share special musical gifts.
